Niseko is a great place to visit in the off seasons of spring, summer and autumn.
Niseko offers a myriad of outdoor activities to choose from : there is more to our resort than powder and hot springs. By the end of May, all our snow has melted and the river comes alive with rafting companies and the village is busy with school children on soccer, baseball and rafting camps.
Other activities to indulge here in summer are: Fishing, mountain biking, diving, kayaking on the lake, surfing on the Pacific or Sea of Japan coasts, nature walks, hiking on Yotei, cherry and strawberry picking festivals, barbeques and much more. In early August, the famous Kutchan Jazz Festival is on, an event not to be missed.
Summer is also a great time to check out the real estate scene here. Life slows down compared to winter and there is more time to meet people and get to know the area.
The Autumn season is a spectacular time to view the changing of the leaves. The colours are absolutely amazing from the beginning of October.
It's important to remember that many of the local businesses are closed in the off season and there is nothing like the choice of restaurants available as in wintertime in the village of Hirafu, however with a car rental which we are able to arrange, there opens up a lot more dining options in the vicinity of Kutchan, Niseko and Iwanai (just a 25 minute drive).
